PLACE REPRESENTED: Tasmania , Australia
ITEM: Coasters
NOTES: Six coasters and a bowl depicting an apple with a sticker identifying Tasmania. This could apply to any place that grows apples – now that’s covering all bases. I like how the apple on the coaster is a little further eaten on each coaster.
YEAR (APPROXIMATE): 1970s
MADE FROM: plastic
MADE IN: unknown
MANUFACTURER: unknown
DIMENSIONS: Coasters: 10.5cm diameter. Bowl: 10cm diameter and about 6 cm high.
Take 2: Pretty kitschy cool Frank. I’m intrigued as to whether each coaster is a slightly different size in order to achieve the curved profile of the apple when stacked. That looks to be the case from the main picture.
Pretty slack “badging” though. You could pull off the sticker and say it’s a souvenir of Stanthorpe – as you allude to in your post.
One of your better ones though – even if though it is only plastic.
You could also stick an Ipswich sticker there
