NOTES: The Loreley is a rock on the Rhine near St. Goarshausen, Germany. It rises to about 120 metres above the waterline and is the most famous feature of the Rhine Gorge. According to wikipedia, “A very strong current and rocks below the waterline have caused many boat accidents there”. The Irish Harp is one of the most famous of all Irish instruments.  The sticker on the back reads “The history of the Irish Harp is carved into the standing stones of Celtic Ireland.  Immortalised in bardic poetry and manuscripts dating back to 540AD.  Island Turf Crafts have recreated the harp in turf cut from Irish boglands”. Island Turf Crafts gifts are hand crafted using 5,000 year old Irish peat from some of Europe’s oldest bog lands.

Brunswick Heads - Display Plate (1)

ITEM: Side Plate

NOTES: Brunswick Heads is a town on the north coast of New South Wales which has remained (almost) unchanged for many years. It is very much a traditional, relaxed, and unpretentious coastal town. The rock wall depicted and swimming area is still there. Developers (with some dodgy government backing) are eyeing off the shore but locals are fighting back (and rightly so).
