NOTES: Google translates “De Heerlijkheid” as “the glory”. Bergen is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in North Holland. Depicted is a local windmill and the famous Ruïne church in the centre of the village of Bergen. Artists looking for a pastoral setting are drawn to the natural beauty of Bergen. It’s a pity the tilers weren’t as well because this wall tile is “Made in Turkey” as proudly displayed on the back.
